Xavier Black

Xavier Vaughn Black was born on June 8, 1997, in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  He was the first child of Danielle Black and Bryan Winckler and at the young age of 25, he went to eternal rest on December 28, 2022. 

Xavier was raised in Somerville, New Jersey, where he received his primary school education, and in 2016 he graduated from Shepard Preparatory High School in Morristown, New Jersey.   Xavier held several jobs since high school most notable was Chick-fil-A in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

Xavier, who was affectionately called “Zav” and “Lighty Svg” by his friends and loved ones, loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He was known for his contagious smile and gregarious personality.   Xavier loved music, he loved to dance, and he loved to party.   In many instances, he was the life of the party.    He was also a people person. He made you feel comfortable in his presence, and he seemed genuinely concerned about you.  Ten minutes after meeting Xavier, people felt as if they had known him for years.   Xavier also loved spending time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed the cousin reunion that he attended just a few months ago and was looking forward to the next one.  He had many lasting friendships. 

Xavier was predeceased by his grandmother, Betty Ann Black, whom he called Gram; his grandfather, Theodore Black, Sr.; and his paternal grandmother, Victoria Winckler.

Xavier leaves to cherish his precious memory, his mother, Danielle Black; his father, Bryan Winckler (Katrina); his grandfather, Thomas Winckler (Barbara); two brothers, Isaiah Black and Elijah Black; three uncles: Theodore Black, Jr. (Kelly), Michael Black (Betsy), and Thomas Winckler, Jr. (Janice); first cousins Kaitlyn Squires-Black, Keyonie Black, Joel Black, Jahmier Black, Javon Black, Jamari Black, Vanessa Garzon, and Jonathan Irizarry; a goddaughter, Kamilla Wright; and a host of godparents, relatives and friends.
